Does anyone know of an english speaking general discussion internet forum they can recommend?

I am not looking for a forum specialised on a particular subject, but rather a forum with a lot of categories to choose from. I have been previously recommended the Belarusian forum TYT.BY,(http://tut.by/) which at the moment has 20 categories and around 200 topis with over 300 000 members. Does anyone know of an english speaking equivalent?

He doesn't specialize in this sort of thing, and recommended that I seek an SRED consultant (but didn't offer any suggestions). I'm in Mississauga Ontario. Anyone have any recommendations?
