Harmonica damage question?

Yesterday I bought a Marine Band 1896 Harmonica and I've played it for probably 3 or 4 hours since. It has a wood comb and it has swelled out (I knew that would happen) but also, the covering (stain maybe?) on the edge of the wood has peeled off of one of the ridges separating the notes. Is this bad? Should I get a refund?
